October 29, 2008:

A friend forwarded me this link to another blog in which he tests ordering Domino's online. Naturally, I loved it and thought I'd share with those who bother to read the Comments section:

Oh I am very familiar with SeamlessWeb! I use it at my job all the time. I guess since I'm registered I could use it with a personal card and see what the cat licks up with Due Amici. I can't deny, I do want to feel pride with the pizza box in the recycling bin. Ha! Thanks, roomie.

It's sad but true that Domino's attracts customers by investing in a "pizza tracker" website instead of by improving the quality of their pizza. If convenience and price are your main concerns, may I suggest a compromise? SeamlessWeb is a site that offers online ordering from local restaurants in NYC. The restaurant Due Amici in Astoria is listed on the site and offers pizzas ranging in size from individual to large, and an individual size pizza can cost as little as $5.50.

I strongly urge you to consider trying this website and this local pizzeria next time you order; wouldn't it be great to feel a sense of pride next time you discard that empty pizza box?

Dominos!! You are too funny. I really liked the pizza joints in Astoria and I will miss them here, but you make a very strong argument re: ordering online and not getting some idiot who will ultimately mess up the order. This is some good stuff my friend. I like these posts!
