Plenty of reasons to stay put! And at least if you WERE to complain about an expensive and small apartment in NYC, at least 7 million others would be able to chime in with their, “Tell me about it!” stories. The last place I resided was in Washington Heights. The only good thing about its location was being about a thirty second walk from my building. That was all.

The Craig’s List Game is intense. I’ve been here now for just over five years, and have managed to move only twice. My current apartment isn’t cheap, it’s small, but it’s in a great neighborhood and close to two subway stops. I’m staying until something DRASTIC forces me to change… just because I never want to get on Craig’s List again.

Thanks for your thoughtful comment, Lisa! CL is definitely only as good as its users. So it’s a crapshoot for sure. I sure do hope you get some better clients but you might have to avoid using Craigslist for that. One day I’ll devote a post to job hunting on Craigslist – it deserves its own story!

I can understand where you’re coming from. Speaking of those Craigslist schemes, I, myself, have applied for graphic arts-related job postings in my area, not knowing they have spelling, grammar, punctuation, and sentence usage errors, and ended up with two clients not responding to my e-mails and phone calls right away and no pay. There’s a lot of illiterate psychos on that site.
